Commentsby Dwight Twilley. RECORDED AT CLOVER RECORDERS, HOLLYWOOD, CA. FROM "THE GREAT LOST TWILLEY ALBUM" SHELTER RECORDS. Dwight Twilley: "IN 1972, PHIL GAVE A COPY OF AN EARLY VERSION OF THIS TUNE TO HIS COUSIN, A DISC JOCKEY ON KGOU IN NORMAN, OKLAHOMA. AS A RESULT, SKY BLUE BECAME THE FIRST DWIGHT TWILLEY SONG TO BE PLAYED ON THE RADIO. WHICH SEEMS FITTING SINCE PHIL & I HAD SUCH A MYSTERIOUS INFATUATION WITH RECORDING IT. WE CUT SKY BLUE MORE TIMES AND IN MORE PLACES, THAN ANY OTHER SONG. BUT FROM LONDON TO TUPELO, NONE OF THE TRACKS MET OUR EXPECTATIONS. PERHAPS IT WAS HARD TO SEE BLUE THROUGH OUR ROSE COLORED GLASSES. I SELECTED THIS VERSION THAT I RECORDED BECAUSE I THINK IT CAPTURES THE BEST TWILISTIC AND SEYMOURIC ELEMENTS OF THE PACK."
