Midnight In San Juan ()

how does such a gifted human become eclipsed by lesser talents? well, few know much about him. peter green received nearly all the attention , and danny outclassed him from day one. to compare him to anyone is laughable ,as danny is nearly superior to everyone. one of the 3 songs with synths here( title tune) is the only small drawback to otherwise perfect songs . his voice, guitar,and music/lyric writing are second to no one in music . all of his songs are repeatedly listened to , and i will continue for as long as i live; his entire output is fabulous. no one except bernard sumner (new order)is comparable,and bernard always allocates credit equally among all of his bands, just as danny 's solo bandmates gave so much to the songs . danny usually created alone with fleetwood mac , forming songs as demos with all guitar parts complete . and of course the later ,younger , undiscriminating fan base of fm after danny, gushed over welch, and later buckingham/nicks to a point that kirwan's superior songs rarely were heard by fleetwood mac fans, much less anyone else. kirwan is my eternal champion.

those with indiscriminate taste fawn all over this . kirwan is criminally barely represented . a shameful compilation for fleetwood mac fans. all kirwan songs makes more sense

Hello There Big Boy ()

we get two fabulous songs - 'spaceman' and 'caroline', one fine remake in 'only you', and 3 excellent songs in 'getting the feeling', wings of a dove' , and 'end up crying'. 3 more would be fine if they were danny unplugged. so i am happy to have these songs.i prefer these songs to almost all of the john lennon solo efforts, same for mccartney ,clapton, green, recent paul simon, most of bob dylan, rolling stones after sticky fingers, pink floyd after wish you were here ,springsteen,leonard cohen, van morrison, jimi hendrix and obviously lindsay buckingham, and fleetwood mac after danny .this is danny at his most vulnerable, struggling ,and likely scared of an unknown future . bless this sweet darling angel; he gave everything for his music, and even at a disadvantage he stands taller than everyone in modern music. this folks, is a true supergiant. he will forever be second to none

Second Chapter ()

before i heard everything by danny , i just happily enjoyed all kinds of enjoyable music. if one reaches for danny , one may find that his world of music is phenomenally sublime, and second to none. that is what i found.

Then Play On ()

i was transformed . twice. first, it seemed at the time, to me and all my blues friends, that peter green was establishing a new direction for fleetwood mac, and that blues can be exciting . move forward 40 years. peter is revered far and wide. good for him . the second transformation was discovering that this record and the new direction was more likely due to danny kirwan's influence . comparing everything by danny with everything by peter leads me to conclude that from the time danny joined to the time peter left they are equals . and comparing everything they both created after peter left, well, danny is nearly divine . try danny kirwan. you may love him, too. more than just about anything.
