Tusk (5/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.0)
Get the vinyl, the cd is a mockery
Review written by Nathan (nathanthesteviefan@fleetwoodmac.net) from USA, August 27th, 2004

I bought the cd several months ago, and found the album a little odd. It takes a couple listens to grow on you, but once it does, you begin to see why this album is so good. To my dismay, Sara was chopped in half and I didn't hear the full version until much later. In my opinion, the full version of Sara is the greatest song ever written. Several weeks ago, I found the vinyl version of Tusk on ebay. So I said what the hell and purchased it. Not only did they cut Sara in half, but on the vinyl version the photos are full color, plus the addition of a few not in the cd version. There are also two collages that are not in the cd version that are, to say the least... weird. If you can, find the vinyl, its better.

Out Of The Cradle (5/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.0)
Diverse, well thought out album
Review written by Nathan (nathanthesteviefan@fleetwoodmac.net), August 16th, 2004

This album is put together in such a way that you can tell it was composed over the course of several years. Some of the songs sound like out-takes from Tango In The Night, or rather the other way around. Examples of this can be found in "Soul Drifter", "Surrender The Rain", and especially on "Doing What I Can" which sounds like "Big Love" just sped up. The bulk of the tracks sound like they were written after the Tango In The Night era and more like early 90's pop, and surprisingly it all hangs together nicely. Interestingly the lyrics "Somebody's got to see this through, All the world is laughing at you, Somebody's got to sacrifice, If this whole thing's gonna turn out right" from "You Do Or You Don't" were later used on The Dance in "Bleed To Love Her", listen you'll see!! Over all this is a surprisingly good album considering that almost anything that current, or former members of Fleetwood Mac produced from 1987 to 1997 (i.e. Street Angel, Time, Behind The Mask) seemed to be a dissapointment. The only thing dissapointing about this album is that more people didn't hear it.

Buckingham Nicks (5/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.0)
Album That Stands On Its Own
Review written by Nathan from USA, August 15th, 2004

What can I say about Buckingham Nicks, due to the fact that it has, as of yet not been re-released to cd, I had mixed feeling as to wether this album was any good. When I first played the record, I only had time to listen to track 1, "Crying In The Night", the first time I heard that song, I knew the rest of the album would be great. Opon further listening, I was proved wrong. The rest of the album is not able to be described in words. This album, I think can be compared to Romours, its one of those albums, like Romours, that you can listen to back to front over and over again and not get tired of it. And I'll tell you one thing, I was not a fan of instrumentals until I heard "Stephanie". I just have one question, how long do we have to wait for a cd?

Rock A Little (5/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.0)
Rock a LITTLE, she's being modest
Review written by Nathan from Maryland, August 14th, 2004

Ok, so the album is a period peice and if released today would be shot down faster than the new Hanson album. When listening, you have to put yourself in 1985 and then you'll see the magic to this album. The album's opener, "I Can't Wait" is one of the best album openers of all time. It has an awesome beat and a full production that just begs for a large scale light show, I'm thinking lots of color strobes. "Talk to Me" is also an awesome song, to bad she didn't write it, but I don't think anyone could'ev done it better. The only weak points are "Some Become Strangers" and "Sister Honey", not to say that they are bad songs, they're actually very good, just not as good as the rest of this album. "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" is unexpected on this album, but a great closer. I just have one question, why do so many people dislike this album?? I don't understand.

Tango In The Night (5/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.0)
tsk tsk tsk

Doesn't anyone get that this album was not a sell out. They did things with synths that no one else was doing, and it sounded damn good. It's so different, I mean some of the songs just aren't radio friendly, for example "Mystified", "Caroline" and "You and I, Part II" (by the way could someone point the difference between part I and II to me, I can't tell). This is the album that Mirage (I still love Mirage) should've been, though no where near as experimental as Tusk. It was also a good look forward to Lindsey's 1992 release, "Out of the Cradle" excellent listen. Anyway, Tango is a great album in my opinion.

Mirage (5/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.05/5.0)
Its just great

The one thing I have to say is that this album proves my theory that the quality of the lyrics is more important the flash of the music.
