() WELCH & CORNICK TAKE PARIS BY STORM!!! Review written by K.C from CALIFORNIA,U.S.A., July 26th, 2005 For a Debut lp by two of rock's great veterans,it doesn't quite click on all cylinders but it definitely has the power to cross the finish line a winner.Bob Welch(ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist/vocalist) & Glenn Cornick(ex-Jethro Tull bassist)have formed a tight outfit with Huntz Sales(drums) & have created a sound that rocks hard with a spacey flair at times. With the song 'Black Book' revving things up & starting things off,we're well on our way thru some good hard to almost prog-rock. 'Religion' & 'Narrow Gate' are on the spacier side but fit in well amongst the harder stuff like 'Raining Red' which finishes off the lp well.Their follow-up LP "Big Towne 2061" was more on the melodic side, but still good nonthe less.I actually was fortunate to see this band-live! GREAT STUFF!!!Unfortunately not available on cd(Hey!Bob,can you fix that?),so hang onto the lp if you find it!Sadly, only 2 releases by this band, but great while they lasted! | |
