() don't expect grass roots Review written by GR collector from Dallas, July 17th, 2005 I agree the Rock Sugar track is worth a listen due to performances by McVie/Fleetwood/Buckingham but once you get past that there is plenty for a collector to enjoy. Listen to God Help the Man-- "who plays rock and roll" and Rockin on the Road Again (which Grill co-wrote). Both sound autobiographical to me although he won't admit to that. Finally, Grass Roots fans must hear the unusual take on Where Were You When I Needed You, very poignant. Grill does not sound like he does on Grass Roots albums, more earthy rock than pop. | |
