I don't want you to leave, but if leaving me is the only way, you better go now
Cos I don't want you to walk out that door, no, but if walking out that door is the only way, you better go now...
Because I don't want to fight you no more, and I'm so tired, I don't want to cry
Seems that I've been hurting, I've been hurting for way too long
Well if making you walk away from me is the only way I get some peace of mind
Well now baby, you've got to, you've got to set me, set me free...

Go Now, you better go now, you better go now.... go now....
Go now, you better go now, well now baby you've got to set me, set me free oh, I.........

Don't want to sleep alone at night, but if sleeping alone at night is the only way, you better go now....

Spaniel Songs Ltd. Deborah Bonham: 'Written for me and my partner Peter. We had been together 24 hours a day, on tour and making the album together. It had been a particularly stressful time, especially the way we recorded the album (on an extremely tight budget) and Peter and I found ourselves arguing over the silliest of things. Every time we tried to sort out our differences, we ended up shouting at each other again. One night, I sat down and I just wished he'd go. I then wrote this song. Fortunately he didn't leave, and after listening to the song, realised that this wasn't the way he wanted things to be...neither did I..... The magical moment for me during the recording of the song was when Jason came to record the drums. I remember standing in the control room with Mo and as soon as Jason began playing I felt the tears roll down my cheek. His power, precision and energy were so great, and his physical appearance so like that of his Dad, that it became a very emotional moment for me. It was then that I realised what a great album I was about to have.....'
