In the middle of the recording sessions at Radio Recorders in Hollywood, songwriters Leiber and Stoller wrote this song to get some rock and roll infused into the process. They put Santa in a big black Cadillac. The Elvis sessions in 1957 were the first where he asked Millie Kirkham to sing. She's back here on our record along with the Jordanaires singing like time was standing still. And Scotty Moore plays electric guitar, as he did on the Elvis record thirty-five years ago. It was magic then, and it's magic now. Scotty recorded at Blueberry Hill Studios by one of the Blue Moon Boys. The Jordanaires recorded at Masterlink Studios. | Appears On | |
