Hard to be in love with someone
With a troubled soul.
Cares a heavy burden
When your baby love is gone so cold.
Tried to give her my love,
But she only turned away…
My love keeps going stronger –
Don’t know why I love her this way.
So I went to see my dear mother
(You’re the light of my life).
I asked about my baby
And why she won’t be my wife.
She said: “Son, I’ve got years of experience
Underneath my bell,
So maybe I just better go
And talk to your baby myself.”
She said: “Son, I’m deeply sorry,
Couldn’t help myself today.

The world is in a terrible awful fright.
So I went to contact my dear mother
Over my baby’s pal,
Cause I’ve just had some very unfortunate news –

No one seemed to answer
On my baby’s phone,
So I jumped in my car and I started to drive
To my baby’s home.
When inside it I saw mom’s shoes –
They were lying on the floor –
Went upstairs and started to knock
At my baby’s door.
Heard all their squealing and moaning
As I was going out of my head,
Looked over and saw my mother
And my baby were lying in bed
She said: “Son, I’m deeply sorry,
Couldn’t help myself today.
Junior, I still love you,
Guess life has to be this way.

Yet life had to be this way.
