CommentsRecorded at: Sound City, Van Nuys, CA and Cherokee Studios, Hollywood, CA. Mixed at: Cherokee Studios, Los Angeles, CA (MCA Records) "I remember when we did that record," Stan says, "thinking, 'Nobody's going to be able to resist that. That's brilliant, sounds great, I love everything about it.'" "The record is a carbon copy of Mike's demo," Petty says, "other than that it didn't have a piano. I had the hardest time with that song because the verse is a very strange chord progression to sing over - the song doesn't really lend itself to a melody until it gets to the chorus. I think I remembered Blondie talking over a track and it hit me suddenly that I could talk my way into it and take it from there. It also reminded me of a Shangri-las thing where they had talked." The promotional music video was directed by John Goodhue.
