Liner Notes » |
The original Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by Mick Fleetwood, a professional drummer from the age of sixteen, and guitarist Peter Green. Slide player Jeremy Spencer was added and soon thereafter bassist John McVie joined.
Fleetwood Mac was immediately successful and within a short time had gained a reputation as the best blues band in Europe. By 1969, with the addition of a third guitarist, Danny Kirwan, Albatross was on top of the charts and a million-seller. Man of the World and Oh Well saw the group outsell the Beatles and the Rolling Stones at that time.
This is a video album of the early years of Fleetwood Mac up to the point of Peter Green's departure: a unique collection of live television footage and unseen archive material, set to the classic studio hits and live performance music of the original Fleetwood Mac.

Where's the live stuff from? Review written by Gregg, August 29th, 2011 While there's plenty of lip-synching on this video, the highlights are the live selections. However, few (or no) details are given about the live material. As best as I can tell, I’m Worried, Like It This Way, and World Keep On Turning are from April TV AB, 1968, Like Crying and Linda are from BBC TV 1969-1970, Peter Green's interview is with Dave Dixon (probably in Detroit), Rattlesnake Shake is from “Playboy After Dark,” CBS Television City, Los Angeles, CA, taped January 8, 1970, and The Green Manalishi is from who knows where, February 1970.
