The Lost Album (4/5.04/5.04/5.04/5.04/5.0)
A Must Have for Any Egan Fan
Review written by Victoria O., August 27th, 2004

From beginning to end, this disc is wonderful. Sure it does have a rough, unfinished sound to many of the tracks, but I don't think that detracts at all from the overall experience. This is classic Egan. There are no surprises here stylistically, just twelve tracks of what any established Walter fan would expect: great rock and roll infused with a generous helping of the California/surf sound. Stand out tracks for me are "Only Love is Left Alive" with backing vocals by Christine McVie, and the lyrically haunting "The Loneliest Boy" featuring guitar work by Lindsey Buckingham. It should be noted though that a version of this disc titled "Mad Dog: The Lost Album" was released in the U.K. on Red Steel Music. It features all twelve of the tracks on this disc as well as three previously unreleased bonus tracks, an alternate version of "Challenger," live versions of "Magnet and Steel" and "Hot Summer Nights," and a six part sampler for his 1999 solo album "Walternative."
