YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING!

I have seen so many bad reviews on this album so I had to post a good one. Even without Lindsey, the band shines on this release. Christine opens with an upbeat, poppy Skies The Limit which I enjoyed both lyrically and for the bass line( not to mention Stevie's background vocals). Save Me is a classic gem with Burnette and Vito providing stellar axe work. Behind The Mask is a haunting masterpiece that only the Mac can deliver. Lindsey even joins for that number. Stevie contributes my all time favorite Mac song, The Second Time as well as Affairs of The Heart and Freedom which are good for getting through rough times. As a rookie, Rick Vito co writes several songs including The Second Time as well as Stand On The Rock which was rather straight forward. Billy Burnette gives us In The Back of My Mind which is one of the best songs here with all members playing and singing, not to mention the two minute intro and Christine's powerful, nostalgic(in a good way) bridge. This album is a gem in the Fleetwood Mac collection. With Lindsey, this would have been a classic.

A Big Miss From the Big Mac

OK, Fleetwood Mac proved with Behind The Mask that they could do an album without Lindsey , but without Stevie and Christine? Their "replacements" efforts- Dave Mason and Bekka Bramlett fall flat. Burnette's Talkin' To My Heart is the only real good song here. 4 of Christine's tracks are also here. They are less poppy and more of the classic Fleetwood Mac sound. They show her desire to leave this band however with songs like Hollywood and Sooner Or Later. But I Do and Nights in Estoril show her at her best. Luckilly for us, the rumours line up got together two years later. If not, we can only wonder where this band would have gone next.

A Jewel for the Fleetwood Mac Legacy

I loved listening to this album, however it has a funny, not quite there feeling without Christine's harmonies and glistening vocals. Both Lindsey and Stevie contributed stellar songs such as Stevie's haunting Illume( a tribute to 9/11)- I swear I heard Christine in the background on this but it might just be me; Running Through the Garden and Thrown Down are classics only the Gypsy herself can throw off(No pun intended). Buckingham contributes a familiar Bleed to Love Her as well as What's the World Coming to( Single?-I hope) however many of his other songs are throwbacks to the Go Insane era. However that cool, glossy coat of Tango in the Night stays and adds that resilient touch. What's missing again there is Christine! I don't think teenagers will be flocking to buy this although I think they should as wellas anyone who wants to hear good harmonies, killer axe-work and production. Rock on FM!!

The Mac Stands the Test of Time

This is my personal favorite of all the Fleetwood Mac albums. All three songwriters contribute musically hip, and modern(80s) classics. Christine leads the way with her radio friendly Little Lies and Everywhere as well as the uptempo Isn't It Midnight. Stevie contributes Seven Wonders, a great synth-pop classic as well as a cool, emotional, acoustic ballad When I See You Again. Buckingham contributes Big Love a brilliant song with cool mixtures of synthesizers and guitars. Tango In The Nighht features a classic guitar solo reminiscent of I'm So Afraid and Go Your Own Way. Family Man almost provides a reggae like feel to it. All in all, this record marvellously showcases the band's talent as musicans and Buckingham's talent as a producer
