Review written by Jeanette Finkes from St. Louis, MO, USA, May 6th, 2006

This cd, aside from some Jimmy Dean and Charlie Daniels, was my first introduction to county music, back when "country wasn't cool". I grew up with this cd, and it was a favorite of my siblings and I. We especially loved the little "plays" going on in the background. I would definately recommend this cd as a "my first country" album for kids. They'll love the witty repartee, and the songs are in a high enough register that they can sing along more easily. The fast paced, upbeat tone of the album will also help catch and maintain intrest. And they are sure to adore the "ammended" versions of the songs. It doesnt matter how familiar or unfamiliar the song is, it's funny. To this day, I still can't help but sing "there isn't anything wrong with the radio", nor to remember that "sometimes it's hard to be a woman, giving all your love to just one JERK". My mom especially appreciated "brothers and old boots", and kids love to hear about Alvin getting in trouble with Dave for all the stuff he's done while recording the cd singing about "How he'd love to be an outlaw". Kids will love this cd, Adults will appreciate the humorous edits the Chipmunks put in while still enjoying old favorites. My mom searched all over for this cd to give to my sibs and me for christmas - then picked up an extra copy for my 5 and 6 year old cousins. This cd is a great intro to a life long love of country music.
