You say your life is really too much, too much, really too much for you to handle
We think your wife is really too much, too much, really too much for you to handle
And you say why? Is this happening to me

You had success, and it was really too much, too much, really too much for you to handle
She said no more sex, and it was really too much, too much, really too much for you to handle
And you say why? Is this happening to me. All I ever wanted was a little bit of stability

She has taken away everything that you wanted, taken away everything that you need
Taken away everything that you wanted, but it's alright, it's alright you're with me..... yeah

You're not yourself and it's really too much, too much, really too much for us to handle
We want your old self back and it's really too much, too much, really too much for you to handle
And we say why? Is this happening to you
Well stop listen to me just a minute, you're not the only one, baby....Shit Happens

She has taken away everything that you wanted, taken away everything that you need
Taken away everything that you wanted, but it's alright, it's alright
She has taken away everything that you wanted, taken away everything that you need
Taken away everything that you wanted, but it's alright, it's alright, it's alright.

Spaniel Songs Ltd. Deborah Bonham: 'Dedicated to Michael Chetwood.... I wrote this song for my dear friend and musical colleague Mike Chetwood (Chetty). We've known each other for many years, the latter of which have been especially turbulent, for both of us. One night, one particularly painful night for Mike, we spoke on the phone. I was very worried for him as he seemed to be at his lowest. After an hour or so of in-depth discussion I came to the conclusion that shit happens to all of us at some time or another and the only thing we can do is pick ourselves up and move on. I told him that and after I'd put the phone down, I wrote this song for him. I'm pleased to say that eventually his life took a turn for the better and he did move on...... I'd like to think that I had a hand in that, although I believe it was definitely all down to him.....'
