    Lyrics »

Need someone's hand to lead me through the night
I need someone's arms to hold and squeeze me tight
Now, when the night begins, whoa, I'm at an end
Because I need your love so bad

I need some lips to feel next to mine
Need someone to stand up - to stand up and tell me when I'm lyin'
And when the lights are low - and it's time to go
That's when I need your love so bad

So why don't you give it up, baby and bring it home to me
or write it on a piece of paper, woman - so it can be read to me
Tell me that you love me - and stop drivin' me mad
whoa, because I - I need your love so bad

Need a soft voice - just to talk to me at night
Don't want you to worry, baby
I know we can make everything alright
Listen to my plea, baby, come on bring it to me
'Cause I need - your love so bad
Baby, I need, I need - woman, I need your love so bad

CommentsBilled as "Need Your Love" on all editions of this album. Mixed at Sound Discs London & Sanctuary Studios London Deborah Bonham: '....a tribute to Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood and dedicated to Pete Zmitrowicz of the Blues Tavern... I first sang this song at a gig at the Blues Tavern, a great little venue near Farnham in Surrey and owned by a wonderful zaney man called Pete Zmitrowicz. We'd actually finished playing, done the encores and had in fact run out of songs, but the crowd were still cheering us on. In the dressing room, Peter (guitarist) suggested we did this song. Obviously I knew it and my band had played it before, but I had never sung it. Well, I'd had a dram or two of whisky so I thought, what the hell, OK. From the moment Peter began to play guitar and I began to sing, the song became ours. I loved it so much that I wanted to record it. I'm only sad that Pete from the Blues Tavern will never hear it recorded as he died of a heart attack aged 49 in 1999. Every time I play it I think of him.....I'm sure he's listening.'

One of my all time favorites
Review written by Bernardo, January 10th, 2012

I can never get enough of this song. It has to be one of my top 5 favorites. Peter Green is THE only one that can sing it to me. It's a perfect song done by him, and it is so sexy.

smooth and sexy
Review written by Robert Smith, August 8th, 2006

This is a song that I have not only listened to a million times but being a musician myself I think it is one of the most amazing love songs ever. It draws nothing but emotion. One of the best blues songs of all time. Thank you for giving the world this gift.
