Something told me it was over
When I saw you and her talking
Something deep down in my soul said cry girl
When I saw you and her walking
I would rather, I would rather go blind, boy
Then to see you walk away from me
So you see, I love you so much
That I don't want to see you leave me baby
But most of all I don't want to be free
I was just, I was just, I was just sitting here thinking
Of your kiss and your warm embrace
When the reflection in the glass that I held to my lips now baby
Revealed the tears that were on my face
Baby, baby, baby, I would rather go blind

Almost the Best Review written by Bill Reich, April 13th, 2006 This is one of my favorite songs and one of my favorite Christine performances. And it isn't the best performance of the song. Christine does a great job on this Fungi Jordan, Bill Foster creation. It is no wonder so many artists have covered this song as it is an almost perfect vehicle for someone with a blues sensibility and the ability to sell a pop song. The combination works very well on Christine's version, only it works a bit better for Etta James. What I think it comnes down to is that Etta has a better voice, is playing a greater instrument.
