Mixed malicious metal Review written by John Fitzgerald, July 6th, 2005 Although Bekka is listed as 1 of 3 "female background vocalists" on the album and it doesn't specify which songs she's on, it's a pleasant surprise that the first vocals you hear on the record courtesy of the opener "Nonstop to nowhere" are from the females (which we'll have to assume includes Bekka). I certainly didn't expect that but this is somewhat of a rollercoaster ride as the album has highs and lows. "The body thief" & "Maid in wonderland" are nasty rockers, sounding like Areosmith at their hardest and most funky but Taime Downe tends to sound more like Ozzy Osbourne than Steven Tyler. "Friends" & "Mr. lovedog" are surprisingly light ballads and although the rest of the record doesn't suffer from the cliches of some other metallic acts such as Warrant for example, it's mostly forgettable stuff. No doubt it was largely due to the lyrics to the "experimental" track "Cat bash" that earned the disc its parental advisory sticker.
