Gui·tar (gi-'tär'). n. best friend, protector, lover, confidence builder; helps with my problems; part of me; sexual and sensual; lost to it; symbol of freedom, power, and rebellion; merely wood and strings.

This unique excursion into what the guitar is and what it represents to players and fans is the first in a series of programs exploring contemporary rock musicians and their instruments.

Through interview and performance, 30 of the world's greatest guitarists from England, New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and Austin define the guitar with host Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers). Exciting concert segments include Les Paul, Al Di Meola, and Brian May; Chet Atkins and Steve Cropper; Brian Setzer, John Entwistle, Billy Burnette, Buzz Feiten and Aynsley Dunbar.

Dedicated to the memory of Leo Fender

There are some interview clips of Lindsey as well as him playing guitar with Jeff Baxter (audio underneath interview) which they cut to shots of as well (unknown song).

Billy is not interviewed but he takes part in the "500 guitarists jam" at the end of the documentary.

Running times of tracks in above tracklisting consist soley of the length of the song portion of the audio track.
